On the contrary, gasoline taxes are one of the few taes that make sense. They are generally used for road building and repair, as well as environmental cleanup. The more you drive and the more you burn, the more you pay. it's one of the few taxes we pay that's levied fairly.

Wow!!!! I was in the local station this morning...... they just got the call to 2.61. The manager yelled at the woman who called to tell her of the increase. Then she sends the peon out to change it, cause she didn't want to be the one that got shot!!!!

I only have to worry about buying gas for a couple more weeks.... I'll be in the desert... no gas problems until after the start of 2006.

However, I bought gas today at $2.21/gal on base... back home in Appleton (WI) its $2.47/gal... ouch! (WI has one of the highest gas taxes in the nation)

Got a note from my bro in Skagway, Alaska tonight

"Reg $2.99 - diesel and premium $3.15"

He, of course, drives a diesel.

I don't understand it either, especially when the price of oil goes down in the market, the prices don't drop as quickly at the pump. This is disgusting! :grr:

A friend of mine has an expedition. It cost her $75.00 to fill it up yesterday. She said if it wasn't because she has kids, she would start riding her motorcycle. This is crazy.

The service companies are sticking it to us too. They are as much at fault for the high prices as the biggies. I live in a city that used to be heavily dependent upon the oilfield and this boomtime for the oilfield is reminiscent of a previous boom and then the bottom fell out. Men couldn't find jobs or wouldn't take them because they couldn't get the salary they were used to. The salaries and perks are ridiculous. A person working for a service company can make $400/day working offshore and all he's doing is putting data into a computer.

In one day,the price of gas went from $2.29 to $2.38 here

Its a supply and demand thing. If we don't start conserving, eventually theres going to be gas rationing, folks

Three days ago, it was 2.35. Now it's 2.55 and the news here said that's only the beginning.

We WILL NOT see the prices drop EVEN if crude prices go DOWN, the AHOLES that run the oil companies KNOW that we will pay ANY PRICE, they've got us by the cahones :grr:
