Global Warming Thread Addendum - Bad data concerning tropics

#1 Postby Steve » Fri Aug 12, 2005 5:30 pm

It has apparently been determined that the data showing the heat in the tropics has not increased was flawed. I'm not making any pronouncements nor am I taking sides and didn't want this thread to turn into a political debate. But it now must be factored into the argument.

Whoops! lol Those darn satellites! I actually thought that Ice Berg the size of Rhode Island floating away from Antarctica was just another berg. LOL. I particulary enjoyed this part of the article:

"Mark Herlong of the George C. Marshall Institute declined to comment. The group, financed by the petroleum industry, has used the data disparities to dispute the views of global-warming activists. In recent years, however, the institute has softened its public statements, acknowledging that the planet is indeed getting warmer but still maintaining that the change is happening so slowly that the impact is minimal."

I for one believe in Global Warming...and I certainly hope we all do since the facts are in plain sight...the debate lies with the cause(s).

The debate is not just about the causes, but what, if anything, can be done to mitigate the negative effects.
