Calling all PRO METS!!!!

#1 Postby artist » Tue Aug 09, 2005 9:57 pm

Seems there are only a few that are regularly posting in the Tropical Analysis forum at this time. I would love to see many more of you posting there so we could see your discussions with each other on a regular basis, as time permits. Think it would help to keep the amateurs that love to question you from becoming irritating and those that want to learn from you can go there to read your thoughts.

AND i want to tell you it means a LOT to me to see your input here and I look for it all the time! THANK YOU for giving us your time! :team:

i wouldn't want to touch this storm either, besides while it is an open wave there doesn't seem to be a sense of urgency to add their comments, derek seems to have it under control

I love hearing from Derek and have the greatest respect for him, believe me - he helped us be prepared for last year with Frances and Jeanne!

It is just nice to read all the other mets ideas as well sometimes. And to see them putting their heads together.

The storm is NOT an open wave per the official NHC classification as of 11 PM, Tuesday, August 9th.

Okay, I apologize. I was just referring to the person I quoted who might have thought the "storm" (I thought they were referring to Irene) was an open wave when it isn't quite classified as that just yet.

Actually, since this is a pro met thread, I've always wondered what it takes to be classified as a pro met on this board. Are you required to actually be working as a meteorologist in the field, or is a meteorology or atmospheric science degree enough?
