Got some good news!

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Tue Aug 09, 2005 7:17 pm

Yesterday, a Kroger food store in the Valley ranch suburb was hiring cashiers and baggers, so I went and grabbed an application turned it in after writing all the necessary info. This evening, I got a call from them and they scheduled me for an interview tomorrow morning! :woo:

Wish me luck on the interview!

Good Luck. I worked for Krogers when I was at college. It is a good chain of grocery stores to work for. They treat their employees good.

Good luck Michael. My daughter has worked for Kroger since she graduated college about 16 years ago. They are an excellent company.

I used to bag for Albertson's. I absolutely loved the customer service parts of the job - bagging groceries, talking to customers in line and in the parking lot, and helping them get stuff into their cars. I despised doing returns, cleaning the floors, cleaning the bathrooms, taking out the trash, and checking the entire store for spills every single hour. Had my job actually just been bagging and front-end customer service, I'd have absolutely kept my job, but as it was, I could get alot more than $5.25 an hour for alot less work than I had to do at Albertson's. They really liked me there, and I liked it too, but Albertson's company policy prevented my wage from ever going above $6 until I turned 18 and could sell liquor...so I now work for $7.70 at IKEA, as a cashier. Just as fun as Alberton's, but easier.

Good luck with your job though. It's a great first job. Having a steady income is amazingly liberating. 8-)

My interview went pretty good, They said all I need to do is to fill out an official online application, then I gotta go through background checks, yada, yada, yada. If I'm hired, I'll be bagging groceries, and hauling carts.

I shop at Krogers BECAUSE of their cashiers... Most of them are my classmates... And there's one older lady who always tells me great stories when I shop there! Last time it was about the natural caves in Arkansas or something. Very fun! :D
