This is a really good point. In addition to being bad netiquette, hotlinking can remove important context.

I'm going to ask again, please do not allow hotlinking.
At home, I DO NOT HAVE A HIGH SPEED CONNECTION! Hotlinking these 300kb photos is not only awful netiquitte, but the pages load at incredibly slow speeds, making the experience less enjoyable. A simple link gets the point across just as effectively

I prefer a link also, it makes the page so big you have to slide it back and forth to read!

We'll enforce any anti hot-links to sites that request it like you've done. Unfortunately we don't check each image link to see where it's from. All we can do is respond when it's reported.
