hello everyone, Irene is just doing its thing out there in middle of the ocean. She does look better this early afternoon but, the center is very hard to find. I took the coords from the 11am advisory and made this center just a little to the west. This storm has been a fighter since the get go. Irene is currently moving generally west. There has been some WSW movement noted as well, but overall pretty much 270. I see no real big reason for this not to continue for the next 24 hours unless we see some rapid deepening, which is unlikely right now. I would look for the TD to further move W and some strenghthing is certainly possible. I could see this easily becoming a TS by this time tomorrow. Once, it becomes a little stronger it should gain some latitude by moving WNW. There are plenty of questions on where this may go, and right now its still waaay to early to tell. This could still hit the weakness and move out to sea, but that is becoming increasingly unlikely. The long term is still muddy as models are still trending west. There are questions to as how strong the bermuda high will build in. This things could build in and move due WEST at the end. time will tell...as always enjoy and comments are always welcomed
short term confidence: good
extended term confidence: poor
