Well, okay...not really, darn it! But, close....

Blue Moon Cinemas is bringing the drive-in experience to Stewart Beach in Galveston. I hope NOTHING is in the GOM at the time so this can happen.

Complete Description:
Galveston Island will be offering its visitors a chance to return to the 1950s and enjoy an old-fashioned drive-in movie at Stewart Beach on Saturday, September 3 at 9 p.m.
Grease will be shown on a 30’ x 50’ inflatable screen structure courtesy of Blue Moon Cinemas. Moviegoers can choose to enjoy the film from the luxury of their car by tuning to an FM station, or viewers can bring a blanket and snuggle close to the one they love. In addition, there will be concessionaires on hand so film addicts can munch on their candy of choice or rent chairs to lounge in.
“This is the first time we have tried something like this in Galveston,” said Cathy Veniegas, Special Events Coordinator for the Galveston Park Board. “However, we think combining two popular activities, going to the beach and watching a classic hit movie, will be a huge success.”
The price of enjoying a film in a spacious layout without the interruptions frequently experienced at the local cinema is just $7 per vehicle. Parking lots will open at 7 p.m.; previews will begin at 8:30 p.m. and the movie will play promptly at 9 p.m.

Aww, Shawn, I was really hoping she'd be in town, in the flesh. But on the big screen is second best huh? You'll take it....now dig out those black leather pants......just kidding. I'm sure you'll be there!!!!

As if I care about her age? Hello? Have you seen her? Besides, she's only 57 and looks darned good for it! Nothing wrong with a mature woman in my book...and BLONDE to boot!

I was just making an observation. Wood paneling looks good, but it is outdated, THAT'S ALL.. :wink:

That's the prob. She's NOT coming here. It's just the movie that I'll get to see. :(

She's the last of my top five that I have yet to see in concert (Billy Joel - twice, Garth Brooks - once, Amy Grant - three times, Bruce Springsteen - twice). Man, I've give just about anything to see her one time live on stage.

LOL! Thanks to SR posting that, I went back to the ONJ official site and saw that they've added new tour dates. The closest (so far) will be Mesa, AZ in November.

And, there's a new DVD set coming out with her videos. Of course, I have them on my hard drive already, but no way to burn them onto a CD. So, I may have to get that.

Should I even confess that I have an ONJ poster in my room? :)

Sure go ahead! My hubby knows I like George Clooney.....everyone in this family knows that! No poster but when we're scanning PPV movies to purchase, if he's in one, I of course have to hear Mom's hottie is in that one.....then they contemplate if we should get it or not, b/c they will have to hear one more time I think he's handsome. Ocean's 12 was up for a while and they also joke, hey mom's other hottie, Brad Pitt, is in that one too!!! Should say former hottie.... Of course they then have to hear my rant on his behavior....hrrrrmmmmphhhh! But they're Friends fans too so we all just end up sighing, what was he thinking, Jolie over Jen? That boy is frigging crazy! Not to beat that dead horse again (and yet another topic hijack attempt!!!!).

So you go right ahead, enjoy that poster. Can I ask if it was from Grease or her video's?

I saw ONJ a few months ago at my husbands casino...she does a great show, more mature, and she looks great! I was awesome to sing along with her live...for all the Grease songs! Enjoy!
