Although I cannot post a link to it b/c it is on a pay site- http://www.wright-weather.com - the 12Z ECMWF clearly shows Irene coming in to the Carolinas. Maybe this has been said before here- but I just took a look at it a moment ago and thought, "hmm".
Perhaps there are other sites where that model is available for free....but that's what it showed. Not just a hump on the isobars either, but a decent little low. We'll see....

well my son in-law would be a little happy. He is the manger of Walgreen's in Leland and he ordered a lot of water and other supply's he would like to see moving out of the store
