As long as the Bermuda high is weak their shouldn't be long trackers across the Atlantic and their should be lots of fish this year hopefully. If something forms in the western caribbean then Florida needs to watch from the south. The high can fluctuate so we might get one or two long trackers and some homegrown stuff. We might have an active cape verde season but in my opinion most will curve up towards Bermuda or skim Hatteras.

My dad was sergeant major of an Air Force airfield near Fort Myers in the late 40's. He told stories about the series of storms that came through there. In one of those, they lost all their planes because the colonel was too slow ordering evacuation of the planes. In fact, a couple of the planes crashed because they took off when the winds were too high.
As for us being "hurricane happy" or this season not being anything like 2004, but more like 1995: check back Dec. 1st when we can look back on this season and write the review. For now, most of it's still the great unknown. However, we do know this season so far is one for the history books (one example, of several, the earliest 9th named storm in history). And that's about all I have to say about that...
