Emily was the strongest July hurricane on record. IMO there's no perfect storm, but many of these you mentioned are almost perfect. Need I remind you of this:?
Allen had the lowest pressure ever recorded in the eastern Caribbean and the GOM. (911 in the eastern Carib. and 909 in the GOM, lowest pressure was 899), and before Ivan, it was the only storm to reach Cat 5 three times.
Isabel was quite nice too. Or don't you remember its eye? (This image is from Derek Ortt's site)
IMHO a near perfect storm doesn't have to kill scores of people. A near perfect storm I believe is one that stands out from all the rest, Isabel with its large eye, Allen with its low pressure, and Emily with its timing. (actually I consider beauty to be one of the most important things when I base on just how "perfect" a storm is, Gilbert/Allen/Emily/Isabel/Mitch/Camille/Andrew type storm doesn't happen every season (you may think it does now, but just look at the inactive periods))

god dang isabel had a big eye does that mean that if it moved into a favorable enviroment. I mean NO shear, GREAT anti cyclone over head, and 100 degree waters lol
no no 212 degree watters lol
it would just explode in convection?
Is it possible for a storm to just EXPLODE withconjection and screw up the LLC like through it off balance or some thing???

I don't think the poster meant that it was "the perfect storm" but was awe by the height of the waves when it was in the GOM.

There are a couple of Supertyphoons that according to one recent paper that may have been stronger than Tip; however they occured after Tip, when recon of Typhoons was ended (Tip was reconned.)
They had astronomically high objective Dvorak numbers; one was Typhoon Angela, I forget the other. Will have to find the paper.
