Can we monitor current ridge weaknesses, retros etc.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Can we monitor current ridge weaknesses, retros etc.

I can bring up many animated Sat images of storms, but what about
actually "tracking" the ridge itself. Weaknesses, retros, strengthening etc.
in real time. But then I probably wouldn't know what I was looking at as far as influences it would or wouldn't have on the track of a storm. Just
curious.

Water vapor satellite imagery tends to be the best indicator of the ridges, troughs, upper level lows, etc...these kinds of steering and sheer indications.
