::::SAMPLE INNACCUWEATHER HURRICANE STATEMENT::::
Tropical Depression Number 9 will form Hurricane Irene soon. It will become a Catagory 5 and will obliterate Miami. From there it will hit every major population center along the Gulf Coast before travelling across the Southeatern States emerging into the Atlanta, reforming to a Catagory 5 and smashing New York.
(This is simply a joke)

OK, let's put up YOUR forecast and verify against Joe B's and see which one comes out on top.
I'm not putting out a forecast, I'm not that good I'll admit, but everybody know JB over hypes or is just wrong. I still remember him talking about New Orleans being hit by Dennis 12 hours before landfall! Come on...

The debate could go on for pages and pages as it has here before and on the other boards. The fact is he sometimes hits and he sometimes misses, just like the NHC and every forecaster out there. He has made some gutsy calls that came true, such as Ivan looping back (people at first called him crazy for that one). Anyway, you get my point. We ALL have hits and misses.
And if you are going to criticize someone who devotes his time to improving forecasting, then all I can say it put up your own forecast and better it or quit casting stones.

Was that directed at me? Because I do have an idea about where its going, but wasn't going to post it formally (though I have said it informally several times in other threads)
If it wasnt directed at me and towards accuweather, then disregard the above

Its obvious that you and me disagree on his forecasting ability, as is the case with many groups of people when discussing him. People either love him or hate him, I'm in the latter group obviously. Yes, he has made some good calls occasionally, buts it mostly misses or just an overhype (which is why you always see him on media networks like FoxNews).

I would actually fall somewhere in the middle. I agree he does overhype things, esp. winter events it seems. But there are also times when he sees that one zinger that most others missed. I can see why some get so frustrated with him, then he'll turn around and pull one out of the hat.

I respect what he does and his effort, and I certainly do not claim to be more knowledgeable than him, but sometimes, with the hype, it is fun to poke fun at in.. all in good humor, not malicious. Of course, some people cannot understand, and while that is a shame, it is no skin off my back.

Is that why we also see Max Mayfield on media networks like Fox News?
Maybe we could use this thread for what the author of the thread created it for. If y'all don't want to post or read about Accuweather's forecast, y'all don't have to. Some people obviously do though.

I guess I dont respect that. sorry.
I was hoping this thread wouldn't go there, but that is really quite a disprespectful accusation IMO. I mean really, think about what you just said. JB would have to be a pretty shallow, evil person to really have that kind of agenda and I don't see a SHRED of evidence to support that.
There have been plenty of forecasts that were quite the opposite.
