Managed to miss this thread before. I've been following this for a week or so. (See the Franklin in Europe thread http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=69531)
What you can't see from the chart in the first post is Franklin was approaching Frank which I found amusing.
It passed through here on Wed as an occluded front producing a massive 0.25mm.
Edit - Ah that is why it is different to the chart I've got. The links I have to forecasted maps from this source are different to the analysed maps.

Norway is where I am from, I just checked the media over there.............they don't seem to be to concerned...........................
How often to a tropical system make it that far up north?

Actually, it occurs more frequently than we think, however, the systems aren't tropical by the time they reach there. Just like with Franklin, the remnant is just a typical low. I'm not surprised that there isn't a lot of media coverage... it just another run-of-mill low for them. It may bring a few rainshowers to the central portions of the country, but not a great deal in terms of wind.

I appreciate your answer. Since my last post I went back over to some web pages there. They said they had a very warm summer this year.Tornadoes can happen there too, but I can't recall any when I lived there............
This picture shows a water spout from 2002. I was not aware of this until now. Just incredible. I almost feel silly.

According to An Updated Tornado Occurance in Europe by Nikolai Dotzek from the 2nd European Conference on Severe Storms there are an estimated 5 tornadoes and 5 waterspouts over Norway and Sweden per year. It should be noted however this is purely an estimate by Dr Terence Meaden of the Tornado and Storm Research Organisation (TORRO) as no observational figures were available.

It is a good thing I came to this board, because I really didn't pay much attention when was lived there. LOL Well, I learned something tonight.
Freaky weather things has happend to places around the world.
We do have storms there, very strong storms that do cause a lot of damage, especially on the coast. I just never thought it could be something like they have in the tropics.....................the picture I found on a Norwegian newspaper's website...................

No observational figures available! In this country, we probably spend millions to send the teams out to see if it was or wasn't a tornado that did whatever wherever. I guess there isn't quite enough of a reason to, though.

Well...
First, the remnants of Harvey appear north of the Azores. Models tend to agree that there won't be much progress with Harvey thanks to a high over the Bay of Biscay.
Believe it or not, (and this is probably stretching it a bit) but Franklin, which merged with a low last week, which then merged with the low labeled Isidor, is continuing to affect Scandinavia. Models don't do much with the remnants of Franklin (if you can call it that) over the next four days as it spins over Sweden and Finland, but by day five, as the blocking high over the Bay of Biscay slips toward the Black Sea, expect Franklin to edge toward NW Russia.

Harvey seems to have degenerated into a remnant low. All that's left of him that I can see on satellite imagery is a low cloud swirl and a bit of convection along its associated front, if that. There's still satellite imagery on the NRL site.
Strangely enough, Harvey was identified as subtropical by the SSD for a short time after the NHC declared it extratropical, and it looked that way for at least a day after that.
