12. You have radar and/or satellite shots of a hurricane on your hard drive

In my case - on my desktop, too.

11. You have a knots to mph conversion chart taped to the wall

Nah ... that's long-since engrained in my brain, like multiplication tables.

10. You have an opinion of Joe B. one way or the other

Better yet, I've had both opinions - sometimes simultaneously. ;-)

9. The next time you see the acronym “SAL” you’re gonna throw the monitor out the window

:grr:

8. Ditto for the word “w i s h c a s t er”

:grr:

7. Ditto for any threads with “wobble”, “turn”, and “trend” in the same sentence

I've been thinking of founding WWA - "Wobble Watchers Anonymous".

6. You still use a paper tracking map

Got four of them on the wall right in front of me, and a drawer full of old used ones to boot. :-)

5. You know what Dvorak intensity means

Yep.

4. You have stared at a satellite image of a Nor’easter in February and thought “Why couldn’t it look like this in September??”

Yeah ...

3. Your pulse goes up when you see a CDO and Eyewall

Oh, yeah ... :-)

2. You know the model plots for an invest before the first advisory is issued

Yep.

Guess I'm a certified (certifiable) addict.

And my own number one reason:

You know the names, dates, and stats of every historic Atlantic Hurricane, but you often forget the names of distant relatives

For the surfers, you have a shrine dedicated to the great swell makers. RIP Kyle.
