Anyone notice the new experimental NWS radars?
I looked at the South Florida radar today and noticed how different it was. NWS has a link on the page to have people give their opinions about it. I like the other way better. Just my opinion, but the other seemed easier to read and see the rain, etc.

Actually... here is the main homepage for all the Ridge Radar sites. All of the sites have been active for several months now: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ridge/
Jan, I wonder why you are having problems accessing it through Firefox. I'm using Firefox now and have no problems with the site. It might be a java problem.

In general, I haven't noticed any java problems with Firefox. But all I'm getting is a black square where the images should be, and messing with the check boxes doesn't do anything.
Not a big deal, really. I use GR Level3 anyway.

Try unchecking the "TOPO" box and the "RIVERS" box and you will have the dark black background like the older version.
I like the new version and it's versatility.

Ditto. I also enjoy the mouseover ability to change the type of (non-looping) radar/image you're looking at without having to click to another page. Try it. You'll like it.

They've had it up and running for most sites for a while but had not had it set to show on the default main radar pages. For some time at the top of many of the old-style radars there's been a blurb about the experimental radar imagery and a link to it.
