Oh boy, i'm never going to live down the day I post this... Here we go!

So let's see one of you!

OK, Swimdude - I need to know if that dye was permanant, and if not, where did you get it??? My 12 year old son wants to dye his hair purple (I think his main reason is to freak his dad out, but that's a whole 'nother story). I am willing to let him try it if he uses only temporary color - the kind that washes out after a few showers. I have looked everywhere I can think of for temporary coloring for his hair and can't find any. (My guess is that he will try it once, and his friends will tease him so much that he will never do it again  ) In my late teens/early 20's my hair was pretty much every color that can be found in nature and a few that can't be, so I know it can be fun to change hair color - besides, it is summer!

Kim,

I actually sprayed it... So it came out the second I jumped in the pool. [I sprayed it for a pool party.] Sooo if that's TOO temporary for you... This might sound incredibly weird, but Kool-Aid does the trick. It might last for a week. I know that sounds strange, but it's quite common for people who want a decent-looking temporary color for their hair.

Thanks for answering so quickly! I thought about Kool-Aid, but it makes me a little nervous; my cousin tried that once when we were teens and it stayed bright red a lot longer than a week LOL. She was really blonde, as is my son; I definitely want it out of his hair before he starts jr. high!

I guess I will ask my hairdresser if she has anything - I was just hoping to pay WalMart prices instead of salon prices. :D

Yes, and i'm sure that wouldn't be good for his middle school, huh? Well i'd ask the hairdresser, for sure. Better safe than sorry. And Kool-Aid is most certainly Wal-Mart price! :D

If you want to go for the really short-term... They sell cans of spray at Walgreens for $2 or so... Sometimes less. They smell toxic, but they work! Heck, that pink in my hair... That was 1/4th of a can!

I tried Wal-Mart - the one closest to me didn't even have the spray-on; the person I asked said "maybe around Halloween"; I could swear they used to carry it. Oh well, if he doesn't get to color his hair he WILL live

I guess I'm not a wacky person. I was born old. I went through the albums and couldn't find anything. Here is a photo from 3rd grade. Its over forty-five years old, an antique photo.
