Here's OB 3:

I happened to read the lat/lon and realized they just passed here - I though I heard them overhead (haw)!

Looks like there is some kind of comms issue or something because:

1. These obs haven't exactly come out in a timely manner

2. Last pair of obs was sent out by Kessler (KBIX) rather than KNHC.

Because of (2), the last couple of obs aren't on the NHC's page or http://tropicalupdates.nhcwx.com/recon.htm ... only on the NHC's ftp:

ftp://ftp.nhc.noaa.gov/pub/products/nhc/recon/

most recent minob

1818. 2219N 07248W 07601 0544 145 019 213 335 020 08241 0000000000

That's about 560 nm away from the position that the 18Z limited area models were initialized with... so it would get to that position at about 4 PM EDT ...

I wonder what they will find... I mean it has increased in convection the past 12 hours and SHIPS model has said 25kts at 0hrs for the past day or so... but then again you never know what they will really find... there is a thread out about the center of circulation and talk of a closed low but will that be confirmed by recon???

Its not about wind, its about a closed surface circulation.

Ok, looks like they've got any possible comms issues resolved as that ob is as real time as it gets...

...meant to include this in my last post: the position that I've been referring to as presumed center is 17.2 North 64.5 West .
