72 hour forecast would seem to suggest more of a peninsula hit if anything for Florida...

And curving into FL's west coast? I think I'm reading wrong...

I thought Cold Front but there's no way one would make it to South Florida this time of year.

That's the ridge.

(edit - ridge axis ... as correctly pointed out below)

Yes, the whole scenario looks a bit dicey for Florida.

My guess is that it represents the ridge axis.

Yes, if the ridge is that strong, that's not good news for South Florida.

So would it go around the blue axis as if it were a radius?

But the 48-72 hour forecast is not depicting a strong ridge across Florida... just the opposite in fact; it shows a fairly rapidly retreating ridge...which would imply more of a threat to the Carolinas than Florida...

Must be the ridge. Will keep 92L pretty far South, that's for sure.

My initial feeling is 92L stays east of Florida... the only way I think it can affect Florida directly is it doesn't develop...

Good Morning:

I just read the 5:30 a.m. TWO, but, it should be retitled "Much ado about nothing" - we've all seen "vigorous tropical waves" in the past - does this look like one?

The quiscat sure doesn't suggest that the system will need to be flown this afternoon. Still just a wave, which could enhance chances of a continues Westerly movement.
