Too Hot!!!

#1 Postby seaswing » Thu Jul 28, 2005 8:34 am

We haven't had any rain (not a drop) in over a week now. Temps have been in the upper 90's but heat index over 100 almost everyday. Local met says high pressure ridge is breaking down and we'll see rain in the forecast again starting today. I was wondering, is this the end of the lull?

We sure need the rain now!

We never get cold fronts here this time of year. They stop before they get to Fla. I envy your weather today. The only time you can stand the heat is when you are sitting by a large refreshing body of cool water with a lounge chair and a cool *drink* in your hand. :D

I sure hope it's over. It doesn't take long at these temps to go from saturated to bone dry. I have to spend about an hour each night watering things to keep them alive now.

No Joke! The last few days with the exception of yesterday, many areas around here hit an actual temp off 100 - 101 and heat indexes rose to 117 in a couple places with 105 - 112 widespread. This is ridiculous!

After being in Baton Rouge for several yrs and then moving up here. I can honestly tell you that Monroe is hot. (a little less humid, but heat akin to Dallas)

We have had rain...afternoon showers because of the extreme heat here but the temps with heat index were unbearable. Even my girls didn't want to play outside which is very unusual for them. Looks like we are getting a slight break right now. It is a little cooler and rain is on its way but is going to mess up my husband's fishing trip this weekend. I don't think he will be happy about that. :x

Im glad I don't have to deal with the humidity you guys have there in the SE but we have our fair share of heat here in Phoenix. Nightime lows over the first few weeks in July were no less than 92F.

According to the NWS Melbourne AFD on Thursday morning, the next several days should bring better rain chances, especially a good opportunity on Saturday for the east coast of the State to finally receive some.

It has been very dry here in Melbourne for most of July, with the exception of a few outer rainbands from Dennis.

I was ready to cry today. Hazy, hot, humid. I've lived here all my life and I can't remember it being this hot.

I can believe it. That deep layer ridge that had been in place was causing all the storms to form on the seabreeze front around I-95 to all points west of there. Unfortunately I am closer to the coast.

Was only 95 in Houston today... But I didn't have my air-conditioned car. I had to walk everywhere today. Now THAT was awful.
