They slipped in rather quickly and changed it to "No data." Someone else must have caught it also.

I was going to ask if you had any skin left on your nose after winds that strong. :)

Someone must've created a miniature black hole near the weather station.

472 mph but the max was 17 mph

#10 Postby jimvb » Thu Jul 28, 2005 7:32 am

I tried looking for Barbados under Weather Underground:

http://www.wunderground.com/history/air ... story.html

It tells me that the wind at 4 pm was 471.8 mph, and that the maximum wind speed was 17 mph. There must be an imaginary component to that 471.8 wind speed, then.

Wind
Wind Speed 5 mph (East)
Max Wind Speed 17 mph
Max Gust Speed -
Visibility 7 miles
Events Rain

Key: T is trace of precipitation, MM is missing value

Maybe Maverick and Goose did a famous "flyby" of the equipment.

At 472 mph, I'd be shocked if the equipment didn't fail.

Yeah I would think the entire weather station would be gone after a gust like that. Awesome typo.

When I worked at Warner Robbins AFB, there was a yellowed note tape under the glass on the front-counter, a WX-ob from some station or another.

It read:

SPECIAL: TOR 1/4M SW MVG OVHD 75G115 WX ST FALLING APART...MAY BE LAST OB
