Senate Bill 786 Tonight!

#1 Postby DROliver » Tue Jul 26, 2005 8:16 pm

As most of you know Senator Rick Santorum has introduced Senate Bill 786 this will dramatically change the way everyone will receive weather data. A lot of people think this bill will never pass, but I have heard from some reliable sources that this bill will be attached to other legistlation and that will increase its chances of passing and since Senator Santorum is a republican and since the Republicans control the Senate and House this also increases the chances of this bill making its way through the back door after midnight. Radio NHCWX opposes this bill and will voice our opinions until the last vote is counted.

This Thursday starting at 8pm EDT Radio NHCWX will host a special show dedicated to Senate Bill 786 and of course the Tropics. This will be a very important show and we hope we can get as much interaction as we can.We are scheduled to be advertised on many national radio networks and we are heavily advertising with banner ads and google ads.

This show was scheduled earlier but Hurricane Dennis caused us to postpone it. We are rescheduling guests as we speak.

Also we want to present every U.S senator and U.S. congressman with an audio petition. To do this we have opened the toll-free number 800-580-4794 so you can leave a 2 minute voice message with your thoughts onSenate Bill 786. Please call no matter what your position is on this bill. When you call follow this format:

#1 State your position on Senate Bill 786 I oppose or I approve
#2 First Name
#3 State/Region
#4 Leave message

We will make all messages into an mp3 and some of the best will be played on Thursday Night's show. Also the staff of Radio NHCWX will select the 2 best and we will draw 2 sets numbers (determined by call in order) These 4 winners will receive a t-shirt and a hat from Radio NHCWX.

This show will be sponsored by Americans for Fair Tax

Hope everyone will voice the opinions and please stop by and take a listen and help support this cause.

All are welcome to join the discussion in TeamSpeak or listen in with the various audio players.

This topic was already locked once.

Can we keep politics out of this forum?

This is not a discussion but an announcement of a scheduled show. However this bill effects all of us on this and other weather forums. I will lock this thread since the interaction we need should be as we requested in the original post.
