Hitting all my hangouts to ask for prayer

#1 Postby angelwing » Sun Jul 24, 2005 3:24 pm

I know I don't post much here as I'm new, but I'm worried sick and am asking for prayers. My hubby was rushed to the ER Friday nite (he never has been in a hospital)-turns out he had a preforated ulcer and an abdominal cavity full of pus. He's in ICU right now and they're trying not to put him on a vent, he's having trouble breathing-his oxygen sats are 85-90, his heart rate is 125-130, he's in a great deal of pain and his fever won't break, its staying at 101.4 and I'm worried sick.

I could go on and on, but I won't. Please pray that he gets better.

Thank you,
Mary

Mary -- I'm sending positive affirmations of wholeness, strength, and comfort for you and your husband right now. And even though I know this is a difficult, frightening time, allow yourself to rest and eat properly throughout all this. Please pm me if you'd like an "ear;" my husband had a similar experience this past February. -- DeeBee/Diane

Thank you, the hospital just called and they put him on a vent and he's got a septic belly. Will be going to the hospital.

Thank you again,
Mary

Mary....prayers from down here in the desert this night. Your husband is right where he needs to be...in the hospital. They will get it under control...and we're here to help you while THEY help HIM!

Lean as long and as often as you must.

Just left the hospital, Ed is agitated, he’s getting blood and besides the sepsis he also has peritonitis. His temp is 102.2, his bp is 103/62, the rep are set for 20 assisted, but I’ve seen it go from 14-30. His sats are 95, even with oxygen. They are pumping fluids into him plus 4 antibiotics at last count. His hemoglobin and hemocrit were very low and his platelet count was high. He’s sweating like crazy and even with the sedation he’s opening his eyes and moving his legs like crazy. His arms are restrained (thank goodness)and he’s clenching his fists to no end. Oh, and he has ARDS.(Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome-hence the ventilator). They are starting to wean him, but his bp keeps dropping (lowest was 50/something I forget) and his heart rate finally went down to 100, briefly hit 96 but jumped up again.

That’s the latest, I’m going back tonight, I think he knows when I’m there, I held his fist and he grabbed my finger and held on tight (getting the feeling back in it now)

I also asked for the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick (Last Rites)so he is getting that this PM.

Thank you for your prayersJ

Mary the prayers are flowing from W. Houston. May the doctors have the pure guidance of our God in all that they do. Sending prayers of strength and comfort for you also. Take care of yourself so you can take care of him when the doctors have done their job.
