I'm going to be an Aunt again!!!

#1 Postby Stephanie » Sun Jul 24, 2005 10:32 am

My brother, Daren and his wife Karen told us yesterday at my mother's house when we were all there for dinner. It's their first child. I'm soooo excited for them!

He/she is due of Valentine's Day. Now, I know that there are some people out there that don't believe in psychics, but I went to one in March and she said that they were going to have a baby and it's a she! I didn't tell them that the psychic said it'll be a little girl, but it'll be interesting to see if she's correct. She's been right on a few other things that she told me so far.

That's the best news Stephanie - first babies are so special, for the couple and the entire family! Just doing all the firsts again, thru their eyes is neat to do - first sonogram, first heartbeat, showers, decorating the nursery.....congrats!

I had the feeling you'd be one of the first to respond!

Anyway, they had a picture of the sonogram. Karen is 10 weeks pregnant. She's also considered high-risk because of her age, 39, and has a hyperthyroid. This is going to be great! :D

I did not catch that about their names.....and of course my mind is going in a similar direction....

Since it's a girl Steph, they could name her Sharon! Or Erin!

Okay, okay....I'll stop......this reminds me of the family I babysat for as a teen, 3 boys, 2 girls, all beginning with the letter J. Dad's name was Jerry too.....mom was the only one without a J, her name was Shannon. LOL

We do have fun with their names - we refer to them as D&K!

They told us that they were considering Aaron & Sharon - NOT!

Well, ya know when I was pregnant with my first everyone kept asking what names we had chosen. I didn't want to reveal them, don't know why, probably b/c I didn't want to hear criticism....we just kept saying we'd know the name when our baby was born (a complete lie!). We had Mark and Nina chosen. I had Nina's name in mind long before I got pregnant! There was a flurry in my family, they were all curious - why Nina, what a lovely name, what is the origin of that name.....my mom ran to the Library practically.....LOL And then called all her friends, who of course said, now that's an unusual name....on it went.

See that would have happened before I delivered so I saved that fun name party for afterwards. LOL

They could just say Aaron for a boy and Erin for a girl. To shut people up - I'm serious!

No I cannot believe that Steve! It seems like yesterday - but I'm sure I'm not telling you anything different!

Daren & Karen had us going there for a moment with Aaron & Sharon. Actually, they're not sure yet.

Steph - and they could get a dog named Baron! We had neighbors once who owned a very large but sweet lab, named Baron....I can just picture this family's xmas cards in years to come.....

Steve - it is hard to believe Emma will be 3 soon! We'll all blink and you'll be telling us next - Emma's starting Kindergarten! But I know ~you and Kathy~ and not missed much of her first 3 years.....even though time has flown by.
