How about a storm photo gallery where users could post their pics and perhaps videos?

I agree. Some sort of weather dictionary would be helpful to a novice like me.

This would be just great!!!

Ditto! I love learning about weather and sometimes the terminology that is used flies right over my little head. :D

How about less post deletion by the moderators?

I posted a funny story that happened on the Weather Channel this morning (Stepahnie Abrams, Kelly Cass, Kristin Dodd) talking about how hot it was. And it got deleted.

I suppose polls about how hot Jim Cantore and other weathermen are allowed, but not other things that are considered off topic.

Actually, it wasn't deleted - just moved to off topic. I agree, however, on your point about what/how/why/when things get locked, moved, deleted, and so on... Certain mods are certainly more aggressive than others in "enforcing" the rules. I believe in most cases, the chips can just fall where they may - it'll all come out in the wash anyway. Always has, and always will.

Printable tracking maps would be especially nice for those of us who do not live in areas where we can get them from our local Walgreens, etc.

I also like the idea of posting the model maps... (spaghetti lines)

Ok...I am not in any way affiliated with this person/website, but I bought a tracking map from them and love it. It's laminated so it can be reused, got some old school nautical images on it, and it arrived very quickly and safely packaged. They sell single maps and can be talked into price reductions for group orders.

Wx acroynyms, Wx Glossary, WxFAQs - posted as a sticky on each of the Wx Boards, may be a Q&A forum - for posting wx related questions to take some of the pressure off the other forums. Spaghetti model map ( I am going to another site to get updated maps). The Wx photo gallery would really be a nice addition.

I personally like the way the FLhurricane board has their page set up to click on the NHC undates - make it very easy to cut to the chase, so to speak.

And can you arrange to get the satellite images to update every minute? :D

Keep up the great work and thanks for asking!

I'm going to remember you said that. If we get a cat 5 here... there is going to be trouble...

I am extremely satisfied with the information I get from S2K. On every occasion when I am looking for something that I didn't see on the sight, someone always has a link to the exact information I was looking for.

And even when some of us novices ( myself included ) ask questions that some might consider stupid, people on here are always happy to answer them for you.

Keep up the good work S2K!

you shouldn't be able to post for at least 30 sec after you have posted to avoid duplicates

That is a really good idea. Double posting, while no one's fault, is a little annoying, and that could fix it.

I would really love to see a weekly tutorial on various topics. We could have an archive for new people who are joining everyday.
