Franklin forecast #1:Hanging out by Florida

EXPERIMENTAL HURRICANE FORECAST
TROPICAL STORM FRANKLIN
NJN WEATHER CENTER
10PM THURS JULY 21ST 2005

Tropical Storm Franklin formed very close to home today but is not expected to be an immediate threat despite his close proximity.

NHC forecasts have Franklin not moving very much in the next 5 days, but he may strengthen during that period before deciding on whether or not he wants to call Florida his home. The Southeast Coast, especially Central and South Florida should watch Franklin closely.

Franklin is in an area where he may strengthen some. Waters are warm and shear doesn't appear to be as bad. This may allow Franklin to strengthen.

If Franklin strikes the Central Florida area, he'll be the 4th storm in a year to do so after Charley, Frances, and Jeanne.

Here is my experimental 5 day forecast on Franklin:
Tonight: In the Central Bahamas. Max Winds: 50 mph
Friday: Moving closer to the Northern Bahamas. Max Winds: 55 mph
Saturday: Paralell to the Space Coast by a couple 100 miles.. Max Winds: 70 mph
Sunday: Beginning to loop back around. Max Winds: 75 mph
Monday: Start preparing Florida, Max Winds: 85 mph
