Channel 7 Miami Update

#1 Postby jlauderdal » Wed Jul 20, 2005 3:22 pm

That is really quite a place to work. You get to work with kamal who was busted twice for dui and then the other incident that sent him to the big house for 5 years, you get to work with jacke johnson and loreta and then you get to work with foreman and ali. I will say this was from a media internet site but will back it up with a link once it is available.

7 News Meteorologist Tom Johnston was fired late yesterday following a physical fight with fellow weatherman Jonathan Novack in the weather office, according to some very close sources. Apparently the two went at it over vacation days and Tom grabbed Jonathan by the neck. Tom was fired, his bio removed from the website last night. Jonathan is the new weekend weathercaster. He was not seriously hurt.

Also don't want to miss todays discussion form WSVN.
Discussion:
Today we should see an upper low move from the Bahamas over South Florida . This little disturbance will drag moisture over us and turn it into afternoon storms. Expect seasonal highs around 90F.

By Wednesday, the upper low is in the Gulf of Mexico and drier air should filter in. We cannot completely rule out a shower or two since the Easterly winds can always kick up some activity.

I don't expect any changes until possibly Friday, when a wave that is presently over Puerto Rico should pass near the state and could again kick up some Tropical Downpours over South Florida.

In the Tropics: After this wave, the Atlantic looks pretty quiet. We could actually see a good 5 - 7 days without any tropical systems around.

The only one still causing concern is Emily , poised to make a second landfall in Mexico. As of this writing, it was getting
reorganized and the winds were back on the increase.

Have a great day!

They really should do their newscasts in front of a live studio audience.

Wow. This guy is good. I especially like the capitalization of Tropical Downpours. I didn’t realize Tropical Downpours were so entrenched in weather lore that those words, when used together, demand to be capitalized.

Thanks for the post…I needed to laugh today. For even more fun, read the qualifications for the folks who are presenting the weather on that channel...I don't believe anyone there would qualify for a "professional met" designation here...
