Will Emily be retired?
Emily hit Mexico twice as a major hurricane, and has history behind it. Should it be retired?

I dont think she will. While she was strong enough I dont think she caused enough widespread damage and deaths that a storm needs to be retired. I havent heard any of the latest reports from Mexico, unless they are really bad I dont think Emily should be retired.
Last year I didnt think Francis should have been retired.......

I went through Francis. My house is a short drive from where the strongest winds were clocked durring landfall and it was not that bad. IMO the reasons why there were so much reported damage from Frances was the huge windfield and slow motion at landfall, i think Jax all the way to Boca felt tropical storm winds , Floridians were underprepared and many destroyed property was old and/or poorly constructed, and there were many fraudulant claims, FEMA handed out millions to Miami/Dade county where they didnt even get tropical storm winds.
Frances was not a major hurricane when it hit Florida, the death toll was suprisingly low and the damage reports were exagerated. That is why I think it should have not been retired.

ya but also it made land fall in not very populated areas (I think) so there (once again i think) minimal damage compared to what it could have done if it had hit a very populated area
