Will this area develop or remain a tropical wave as it moves westward.

A tropical wave over the eastern Caribbean is producing cloudiness
and showers over Hispaniola...Puerto Rico...and the Leeward
Islands. Upper-level winds are currently unfavorable for
tropical cyclone formation... but could become slightly more
favorable during the next day or two as this system moves westward
at 15 to 20 mph.

Yes, there is potential for development. Yesterday, conditions were rather hostile. Today, thunderstorms are refiring north of the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic and UL conditions are becoming more favorable. It looks like the pattern will bring it close to the east coast of Florida by the weekend....
