I am just wondering...what local news met do you listen to? Right now I am listening to John Ed on Fox10 and I think he just mention that there is something in the tropics that they are watching and I don't think he was talking about Emily either.

Sorry, I'm not a Floribamasippian, but your local met may be referring to the westward moving portion of the former invest 99L (yes, that 99L!) that's causing some t-storms in the vicinity of Puerto Rico today. It's the only other thing out there remotely discernable in an otherwise (powerful Emily notwithstanding) quiet tropical Atlantic.

I was making dinner (like a good little wife and mother!) so I only partially heard the weather. Jim Farrell on WINK said something about a low that would be moving across the southern tip of FL and it would give us some rain on Friday and Saturday. Big deal! We've had rain practically every day for about two weeks now.

It's defintely the ULL/Invest 99L(the storm that will never die). No development... just more rain to Florida.

Gee, just what we needed. The zillions of inches we've had in the last month are just too short.

Anyone have plans for an easy to build Ark?

I bounce around between Margaret Orr and Mike Reader (WDSU and WLOX) with an occasional Mobile channel thrown in...but mostly, I get my weather from the internet.

I'm a Mike Reader kinda guy (WLOX). He usually keeps things in perspective and seems to go out of his way to avoid the hype. I remember his baptism storm - Elena in 1985. Even after all the loops, turns, and twists, he stayed true to his steadiness and let the chips fall when they may. But, it was still fun watching him try to get a grasp on things that evening!! Plus, he flew several missions with the Hurricane Hunters during his 20-year stint as a forecaster with the Navy. He knows his stuff about the tropics.

I used to watch Mike Reader on WLOX but can't pick the channel up anymore. Guess I need a bigger antenna??? LOL. Now I either get my updates on the net or watch Steve Taylor on WDAM. Steve is really good, but it would be nice to be able to hear what Reader has to say, since he's on the coast.
Wish we had cable out here.
