I'm not monitoring every little wobble, but from this sat loop, Emily just made a BIG jog to the northwest. Doesn't look like just a wobble to me.

Then after the big jog, it looks like it does a 360, in other words, it's pretty much stationary.

I asked that in another thread this morning...and got bashed for it....saying trust NHC its going due WEST.....well its not....is that ouflow slowing her?? from eugene...great question

Eugene doesnt have enough outflow to affect Em, and it it did it would shear her not slow her.

The more I look at the infrared sat image it looks like the eye it self is not moving and its just the bands around the eye expanding out that makes it look like it is moving at all! what do you guys think about this?

The due west movement wasnt forcast from NHC until this evening, its moving very close to NHC track.

Has Emily reached the far western end of the ridge, detected a weakness north of her, and is starting to stall before a curve? She has definitely slowed from her 20 mph juggernaut during most of her history.

well, i am begining to wonder the same thing....cuz, something has to be going on for her to slow to a crawl right now...she could be at the end of the ridge

Pluggin the points from the last two vortex fixes into the distance calculator yields 15 nm travelled over approximately 90 minutes... doing the math manually yields 16 nm over 90 minutes... so something between 10-11 knots or 11.5-12.5 mph...

and the trigonometry suggests something like a heading of 290..

It should be noted that Emily is now almost due west of her projected landfall point. So if a west motion is to happen it should begin now.
