Is 99 really dead?

OK, I am a rank amateur but check out this loop.

The southern end of 99 seems to have escaped the trough and may be in a good location for forming a circulation due to the surounding steering currents.

According to this map it is located between two highs and perhaps a counterclockwise circulation could happen with these remnants?

Well in any event, this might be another time wasting cloud mass to watch if it doesnt disappear by tomorrow. :ggreen:

well I dont think that this will disapear at all but I'm not gonna bet on it strengthening either...

It's really migrated SW...it almost seems to have *spread* SW. It's been interesting watching the evolution of "99L" since it emerged from Africa.

99L I think should be retired. its been a long struggling system. Poor thing never got a chance to show himself. Maybe next time. I say bye bye 99L

If it is true that it could hang around and potentially redevelop which way would it go? I mean it looks like its right in the middle there. Will it go north of the islands or south into the caribbean?

It seems to me that another tropical wave has merged with the former/split 99L - everything is kinda "backing up" in that area. Regardless of whether it re-develops into anything, it looks as though a lot of deep tropical moisture is on tap for S. FL in a few days...
