At least two more days of extreme heat headed our way. A record 116 yesterday will be followed by at least 112 the next two days.

A dry thunderstorm swept through the neighborhood last night. A sprinkle or two, a clap of thunder or two, and gusty winds. The temperature ONLY dropped to 106 at the height of the storm with gusts of 40 mph or more.

Try to picture that...106 at the height of the storm!

We managed to get some relief from the heat, but the DFW hasn't got any official amounts. It could be raining in Irving, Dallas, Garland, Duncanville, etc. and it still wouldn't count for DFW.

I guess I can't complain either. However, I shudder to think what my AC bill will be this month!

Partly cloudy, hot and humid. Temp 91, heat index 102.

Son starts football today and I'm sure we will have our traditional 6:00 pm thunderstorm just in time for practice. :grr:

CLEAR BLUE SKIES today and low humidity - a nice, brief respite from the heat. This morning's low was a chilly 57!! 90's are back tomorrow and most of the rest of the week - 100 is not out of the question this weekend. In fact, Tom Skilling from WGN in Chicago has 100 for Sunday and 99 Monday down there. Wow! 100 hasn't happened here since the heatwave of '95.
