Mutt. I've had my Mutt mix for the last 9 years now. He's as crazy and insane as his owner and his name (Zigzag) so we get along fine.

Cajungal,

I remember seeing your post the day before you lost Lacey, and it made me cry, at work and everything! I'm so sorry about your loss, I know how hard it is. I hope my picture of Bailey didnt make you too sad!

All of them have different personalities. I have a Jack Russell that is very hard headed. My Pomeranian will catch a frisbee but the Jack Russell won't. lol.

:roflmao:

Just picturing a Pom catching a frisbee in my head.....its surprising the little thing doesnt just get picked up and carried away with it....

I really should clarify that I'm not sure I have a favorite, either.... Zeus (my Boston) is perfect for me and my home at this point ... but I grew up with a Husky mix and a German Shepherd that I loved very very much ..... theres just no way I could fit one into a townhome with no fenced yard.... :( My sisters little Yorkie has even grown on me (I generally have no use for "yip dogs").... she couldn't weigh more than a pound or two but thinks she can take on a pit bull.... :P Most dogs are wonderful, they are just wonderful in different ways....

No, it is okay. I will always be a Yorkie lover. And I will always love and miss Lacey. No dog will ever replace her. But, my mom and I are talking about getting another Yorkie in a few months. A female. I already picked out the name Abby for her. Unless I come up with something better or if when we get her she does not look like an Abby.

Try an apricot toy poodle catching a plush, stuffed, squeaking "Chicky" in mid-air...then running it back and DARING you to take it away from her to throw it again  !

I used to pet-sit a very nice Shetland Sheepdog named Leader. :)

I can't pick a favorite - had too many different types growing up and they were all great! Just off the top of my head: Norwegian Elkhound, German Shepherd, St. Bernard, Cairn Terrier and Great Dane are the ones that I remember best from childhood. Right now I have a 10 year old golden retriever who is the most gentle dog in the world, unless she feels that you are threatening her (well, my) kids. I would like to get another Cairn Terrier sometime in the next year or so, but with Shandi getting on in years this might not be the best time to introduce another dog to the mix.

I love all dogs. I've raised Old English Sheepdogs and they are dumb as a bag of rocks but sooooo loving and so protective. We had beagles when I was little and they are the three SSS's - Sweet, Smart and Stinkie. My little rat terrier is about the smartest dog I've ever had but boy is he bull headed and kinda yappy but I love him to pieces.

Voted other.

I am owned by a very sassy black Minature Schnauzer. She is my first schnauzer and can't really imagine having another breed. Very intelligent and loyal little furkids.

Have a black and tan dachshund and she is a total mess. But love her to bits. Want a corgi, and probably will get one in a year or two. The weiner dog (and she is, last measurement 27 inches long without the tail) is his. The corgi would be mine.

Been a long time, but had to respond

#32 Postby chicagopizza » Tue Jul 19, 2005 2:40 pm

I have not been on the boards in months and after I read about your pup, Cajun, I had to respond. What wonderful memories you must have of her. I love Yorkies, but I have to say my favorite is the Shltie of which my husband and I have two - Hurricane and Abbey. It is Abbey's 9th birthday today, so we are celebrating! (It is also our 8th wedding anniversary :D which we are also celebrating, but that is off topic!)

Hmmmm...not sure how to post pics, but they are both very cute and very loved!! (And my husband is too! :D I am a lucky girl!!) [/url]

Your dog is named; Abbey? I am getting another yorkie in a few more months. A female. And I was thinking of naming her Abby.

Abbey

#34 Postby chicagopizza » Tue Jul 19, 2005 3:13 pm

She is from Sheltie Rescue and we got her when she was 6. Her 1st "mom" named her Abbey and it fits her perfectly!! What a sweetie! She likes to be held like a baby when she sits on the couch with us!!

It is funny, though. Her name usually goes unnoticed and Hurricane's name grabs the spotlight, which is perfect for him because that is exactly where he wants to be - in the spotlight. If there is a camera around, he will pose for it. Too funny!! (Although, Abbey is still the boss...poor guy)

Don't get me started though, you will fall asleep listening to me carry on...hahaha. I am so glad you started this thread -it is so nice to read about people's pets. I hope you find the perfect addition to you family soon. :D
