Still looks like she is moving steady to me. There are some fluctuations going on with the eye structure however.
Don't worry about getting hammered for your posts. Many of us are here to learn and enjoy. And most of the people on here, pros and ameteurs alike are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Perhaps it has slowed, but since the eye is becoming obsured on satellite it can create a deceiving image. I don't think we've stalled or even near stalled, we're probably moving at a steady 15-18 mph. I have no idea though.
It is sad that you have to worry about posting this now though, I wish it wasn't like this.

good observation. wish they had better radar in the area so that we could tell.

Nothing better...At least for the amateurs...

I agree with your take there, 1000%. Folks should always feel ok with presenting any new ideas/comments/questions without fear of getting hammered....that is the reason this board is here...send me or any other mod a PM if you observe that happening. I dont read every post...as that is almost impossible...so personally I don't see everything...but let us know. There is no place for that kind of bashing...
As far as the stall...hard to tell that if you are just looking at IR satellite imagery...I don't think the center is stalling so much as the convection is building westward after weakening considerably on that side earlier... hence causing problems if you follow the envelope itself...but the actual center is still moving WNW at a good clip based on recon data.

It depends on what satellite loops you're looking at. For instance, at http://www.ghcc.msfc.nasa.gov/GOES/goeseastconusir.html, picks are normally fifteen minutes or a half-hour apart, but if there's something particularly interesting going on, new frames will come every 10 minutes or even less. If you're viewing a long loop, the last half of which is more rapidly updated shots, it will appear that the storm is slowing as it loops.

Seemed earlier that the center was rotating within the CDO as the new convection was blossoming closer to the Yucatan coast in conjunction with landfall.
As for the premise, I can see both sides. The bashing does get out of hand, but so does the statecasting "wobble/jog/NNW vs. WNW threads we have to wade through (or around) with every threat. In this case, the post was sound and legit. You're not living in Cancun, so it's not like you had a vested interest in presenting a scared-to-death what if scenario.

I agree Mike and before I saw your reply, I was going to comment on Galvestongirl's post as well. It shouldn't be like that and we're going to do everything we can for it NOT to be. Everyone should feel free to post their opinions and if others don't like it, they can just ignore it. I'm not liking the tone on a lot of posts I see. I realize that some of it gets repetitious, but just let it go for the spirit of the board. We don't want anyone afraid to post. That's why this board was created in the first place.....to get away from the hostility and flames found at other boards. We're about to drop the hammer so I suggest everyone lighten up.
