It's possible but we will have to wait and see if it's likely or not. The GFS is very interesting is how it handles the remnants and moisture and based on that we could expect good rains. However, none of the models and
especially the GFS handles these patterns well.

Keep your fingers crossed that the moisture WILL make it up here..........we have NOT had ANY RAIN just yet, only lightning and the USUAL WIND!! So far for 2005, we've had 18 DAYS "without wind!" 18 DAYS, that's IT!!

Now....this AFD sounds interesting, not holding my breath just yet however.

THE REMNANTS OF EMILY WILL TRAVERSE NORTHERN MEXICO AS AN EASTERLY WAVE LATER THIS WEEK...POSSIBLY SENDING AN ADDITIONAL SURGE OF MOISTURE INTO ARIZONA. WITH DEEPER MOISTURE ALREADY TO OUR SOUTH OVER THE PHX/TWC AREAS...AND THESE FACTORS COMING TOGETHER IN A FEW DAYS...WE WILL MOST LIKELY BE A FULLY DEVELOPED MONSOON PATTERN BY FRIDAY OR SATURDAY. WE HAVE RE-TOOLED POPS TO DEPICT A NORTHEASTERLY STEERING FLOW EVOLVING INTO A SOUTHEASTERLY FLOW THE NEXT FEW DAYS...WITH POPS REALLY INCREASING AND SPREADING NORTH AND WEST LATER IN THE WEEK. HOT DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE TODAY AND WEDNESDAY...BUT WILL BEGIN TO DROP AS CLOUD COVER AND MOISTURE INCREASES LATER IN THE WEEK. PETERSON.

The pre-Emily humidity has picked up. Thunderstorms just east of us last night brought a true "haboob" to the area with blinding dust and howling winds followed by thunder...but no rain here as yet.

Clearly the humidity is in place as overnight lows hover just below 90...something more common in the humid part of our season.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for "beneficial" rains, not torrential ones.
