Jamaica=No Damage

StormCaribe had many correspondents reporting from the island and reported Emily was rather uneventful. Rainy, cloudy with few and far between gust to TS stregnth. Good news, even in southern exposure areas.

Alright some good news. Those guys in Jamaica cant take another beating from another hurricane. Unfortunately Im not so sure we are gonna be able to say the same for what lies in the path of Emily.

This is the strongest wind shown in Kingston yesterday at 26kts. They were reporting thunderstorms 2 hours before this observation.

I should mention though that no gust speed is shown there and that data is from 8pm GMT. (The latest data I can find) The Montego Bay data hasn't updated since 5am GMT yesterday when it was reporting it was calm.

My wife has been to Jamaica on business in recent months, and says the place is still trying to recover from last year's storms, much less this year's. It seems like storms have just been pounding that island in 2004 and 2005 ... or getting very close. It's certainly not a rich country anyway, and I feel awful that they have to go through this.
