Personal Question II

#1 Postby Fego » Sat Jul 16, 2005 4:54 pm

?During which storms or hurricanes have you been present at?
In my case, Inez, Eloise, David, Federico, Hugo, Hortense, Georges and Jeanny....

Hope you will like this new personal question because not everybody have felt a storm/hurricane force...

Hugo!!

A little rain from Fran, Bonnie, Floyd and Gaston.
Earl (1998) was a dissapating TS when it came through but it made the lights flicker at my middle school.

Well I cant tell you the number of Hurricane Warnings I have had to endure. And I have been through my fair share of Tropical Storms. But I have only one Hurricane to claim.. Hurricane Georges... Which was bad enough!

When we lived in Lake Charles, LA in the 80s, Hurricane Danny came ashore between Lake Chuck and Lafayette, and we drove over to Jennings on I-10 to have lunch in what was left of the eye of the storm... Hurricane Juan, meandered around SW LA for a long time later that year, and we sat through a McNeese-North Texas football game in a driving rainstorm (0-0 tie) with the eye about 50 miles away... Plus, my wife drove over to video Hurricane Bonnie a year or so later when it hit Port Arthur/Beaumont... We eventually got flooded out of LA by a tropical storm in 89 (Allison?)... Later in '89 when we moved to Ohio, Hugo's remnants dumped lots of rain on our house...

But none of these storms compared to the monsoon thunderstorm that hit our current place in Glendale, AZ in 1996 with 115mph winds and heavy rain.... Wish we could have a repeat - a break from the 112+ degree heat would be nice...
