Question - can the north-south orientation of the warmer water affect her track?

An analogy could be the Gulf Stream waters in the Atlantic states that also runs vertically. She may intensify before making landfall, of course, that's if conditions are favorable.

Well, I kinda knew that :wink: . But now that I think about it, the Gulf Stream had little affect on Andrew's track; it plowed due west right over it. Granted, the Gulf Stream is very narrow off of SE FLA, but still....
