It might have something to do with the lightning strike at Wallops Island that garbaged up the GOES data reception.

Nope, she hit Central America. She fizzled out for a while, but rapidly reformed in the EPAC. She has been moving very slowly since while organizing rapidly. However, she is picking up speed again.

That photos appears to be hosted on a blog and not the NASA site. Why should we believe that it hasn't been doctored? <P>I could do it in Photoshop in 15 minutes and I'm not very skilled.

I saved it from the NASA site, and uploaded it to my webspace because its a time sensitive image.
