>>Last year, fellow poster and coworker BC told me about it. Now more than half the office reads S2K.
That also means you work with Frank P. even if you don't know it.
Tell "BC" that dinner the other night was fabulous. I had fried blue crab claws, raw oysters, a bowl of corn and shrimp soup, a shrimp po-boy, and we got comped free Abita Amber all night. It just so happened that my brother was bartending and needed help shucking some oysters. Since I was first in, I helped him crack a few dozen. The house picked up 4-5 rounds each

I found this place from an ad Ticka (apparently no longer affiliated ?) put on either Hurricane City or flhurricane.com, both message boards I used to frequent, to come chat at the new storm2k. I thought it was her board or something.
But I liked Stormsfury's stuff so I checked back a few more times. Then I started reading Donsutherland, Mike Watkins, Derek and others and thought there was a pretty good discussion level here. The reason I stayed was the format. I was a long-timer on flhurricane, probably going back to like 1998 or 1999. And I really love most of those guys. But because they do a "news" type format, you might have to scroll through 30 posts before you find something you were looking for where the message/thread type post here lends itself to being able to ignore all the stuff you don't want to read. It's a much more comfortable format for me.

I used to hang around the Lowes storm board and Palm Beach Post board (same thing?) way back when. I lurked for 2 years before starting to post around 97. I heard of this site from MWatkins, BarometerBob, Dixie and others about 2 or 3 years ago. I guess I finally followed them here for good when the other site radically changed the way they presented their threads that made it so impossible to just read them without pulling in and out a gazillion clicks. Anyway, I like it here much better!

How I found Storm2K
I belong to the forums on http://www.gardenweb.com and I had been on the Florida gardening section where one of the regular posters had mentioned your site. Glad I found you!!!!!!!!!!

Found this board...
While looking for information/damage from Charley last year, I think. The link was in someone's information page, I think. Immediately hooked, of course. Brought my parents in as well.
