Through the channel and then towards Texas...takes a hard left in the west central gulf and landfall is near Corpus Christi I think.
Here it is.

I don't either. There appears to be a weakness that develops which sends it further north , but it builds back in leading to a more westward movement before landfall that most of the models show.
So the question is when it builds back in leading to a westward movement.

Still, all of the models were clustered in central Mexico a couple of days ago. Now they're clustered in TX, it could very easily change again.
Whats the thing though about these people is they only make a big deal when the situation is more favorable to them, like we saw with FL folks with Dennis.
Well, just to defend "these people" a little, it's only logical that most people would be more concerned/interested if it could affect them. Some of us, including me, follow them wherever they go, but not everyone does. Now would I be even more interested if one is about to come knocking on MY door? You betcha! Then I have to worry about my home, my family, my friends, etc.

Theres concerned and there is -removed-. -removed- is annoying and leads to a bunch of garbage in threads that have legit discussion going on. But thats just my opinion.southerngale wrote:jkt21787 wrote:hicksta wrote:your correct.. but the nogaps is near it also..

Absolutely, I agree with you there. You would naturally want to be concerned if it is headed toward general direction. I guess what I meant was more in line with those who are doing you know what with the storm towards them, the large majority don't, they are here because they are watching it and wishing for the opposite!
Wasn't very clear with my comments so I apologize to those I may have wrongly included with my earlier statement.

I know what you mean, but unfortunately, new people and those who just visit occasionally have to endure thread after thread of people complaining to those who do that, not to mention those who do it. Just try to ignore people who do it...maybe they'll stop if they don't get a reaction. I know you can see how someone who is genuinely concerned about a potential hurricane threat might get accused of "wanting" it because they ask a lot of questions, when in fact they're just concerned. Sometimes people jump to the wrong conclusion..sadly due to the actions of others.
Anyway, to everyone...let's get back on topic. A few PM's will be sent.

The best thing to do is not use the term wishcast. Storm2k does discourage its' use. As a mod I can tell you that we have deleted posts because of it, edited posts because of it and even warned posters in some extreme cases. The fact is that it is normally a derogatory word directed at a group or individual and while it is an expression of someones opinion of someone else or another group, that is considered bashing or attacking, which we do not allow.
Like SG I follow TC's start to finish and just because I live in Texas and say a TC is coming to Texas doesn't mean I(or any one else)am -removed-. With Dennis I'm sure some could have accused me of -removed- him to my mom's doorstep, which he darn near landed on. Early on I had a NW FL landfall called and missed it by less than 20 miles(not patting myself on the back either because I miss some too)but I surely wasn't wishing a(at that time)CAT4 monster on her or anyone else.

Thanks to both SouthernGale and vbhoutex for this information and reminders. I will certainly be going forward with a different attitude about this situation
We DO have a category 4 hurricane on our hands now, we are living history, and it could have an impact on many areas to come. Back to the topic at hand!
