A personal question.
How old is everyone on this board and how long have you been tracking storms? If you guys and gals don't want to answer that's fine. I was just curious.
I'm 41 and have been tracking storms for 26 years.

23, never really cared about tropical weather until last year. I've always been a Plains WX girl, but once I graduated from OU and got a job forecasting typhoons and hurricanes world-wide, I kinda HAD to become interested! haha! I've now moved on and am no longer forecasting hurricanes, but I still follow them closely.

Ok. I'll bite. I am 59 y/o and have been tracking storms since I moved to Florida in 1974. I became really serious about it about 20 years ago when we started taking our annual vacation to St. Maarten right at the height of hurricane season. Have been hooked ever since.

29 here ...
been excited about storms and watched hurricanes since I was very young (less than 10). But since I have lived in South FL most of my life ... and there were basically no storms that hit for the entire 1980s and 90s (Andrew didn't cause any trouble in my neck of the woods in northern Palm Beach County and I was in college in Boston for Erin in 1995) ... I didn't experience much. That started to change with Irene in 1999, the extremely close call with Floyd that year, etc. And of course, last year was the big Kahuna (out of town for Frances, but rode out the southern eyewall of Jeanne).
