We all need to take a breath and be sure we are talking about right storm... Though looking at sat pic, would be surprised to see a drop if not that much at least a drop.

Yeah, we all got a little excited with that. Lets move on...

but, there definitely is a more pronounced intensification going on right now.

Geez... I had that post up for like 60 secons before I was able to edit it. Sorry for the confusion guys... Just clicked on East Pac and it's still showing the Adrian vortex. Just so happens to have pretty similar wind speeds so I didn't spot my mistake right away..

Well, in general, that depends on the environment a storm is in. If pressures are high, then the storm could have high 990s-mb and be a hurricane. Also, Recon may not have found the lowest pressure yet.
