yea the storms here on the coast were crazy today !! And looking at the radar we may get more later tonight. It has been a long time since i have seen that much red over eastern NC. Usually we get either a line that just moves quickly through or we get the afternoon thunderstorms that just blow up and die all in one place...but today was insane...it was like the whole eastern part of the state was covered in red. We got many inches of rain in just a few hours here in the newport/havelock area. although, on a side note, the winds in the storms did not seem to bad...just incredible rain and thunder.

Up here in Chesapeake earlier this morning some of the rain gauges were registering rainfall at over 2 inches an hour.

Had a severe t-storm warning earlier in eastern Wake County.

Yeah, I see that line down near Wilmington headed our way...Hopefully it will happen long after I am asleep. I got a gust of 22.2 today at the house, but on the sound it is normally 8-12 mph in the afternoon, so 22 is nothing.
