New Orleans Bowling Alley is to hold after Hurricane Party

#1 Postby cajungal » Wed Jul 13, 2005 2:37 pm

I just read that the Rock N Bowl Bowling alley is holding an after hurricane party. It will be $20 per person. With food, unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks. And includes bowling and rental shoes. It sounds like fun. For any more information, go to Channel 4 New Orleans news weather forum.

Yeah I read that earlier one of the posters works there and thought it would be a good idea to schedule the party. Sounds like a lot of fun, and you can bring your kids

There's a good idea, hold a hurricane party AFTER the hurricane, make sure the place isn't destroyed first like those people in Camille had to find out.

I want to go. But, I would have to find somebody to go with. Because I am not driving an hour to New Orleans to go to the bowling alley party by myself. I don't know where it is, I hate driving in the city, and would feel uncomfortable being around a bunch of strangers. But, if I can get a friend to go with me, then I would love to go!

Sounds alittle weird to be holding a party for a hurricane  People dying and homes lost is not a reason to celebrate

Actually canegrl04 it is an after hurricane season party. Everyone just figured after a long season of tracking storms together over the net it would be a good idea to get together, meet each other, relax and celebrate the end of the season

Welcome to Louisiana, where you don't need a reason, much less a good one, to have a party.

You're a Texan. Shine up them kickers, make that hair nice and big, spit out that chewin' tabacka and move them dawgs!

We, however, are in Louisiana. We party.

That is all.

In the Virgin Islands they have Hurricane Thanksgiving Day...and it is hugely celebrated (though perhaps in a different sense of the word), whether they have been hit or not, to gives thanks for getting through the season, and gathering strength from each other to go on. (There is also Hurricane Supplication Day at the beginning of the season, to pray for a safe season)

Very easy to find.

Take I-10 into the city and exit at Carrollton Ave. Take Carrollton north (you have to choose north or south when exiting), pass under the Interstate and when you come to the first redlight it is inside the shopping center on the left just past the light.
