LOW off of NC.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Dennis is right now between Illinois and Indiana, it can't be off the Carolinas' coast.

No, that isn't Dennis. Dennis' remnants are still stuck back in the Ohio Valley.

Whatever it is its hitting us as hard as a tropical storm. Winds haven't been anything but we've lost power a couple of times and basically its been one long thunderstorm since 1am. We've had a couple inches of rain and they're calling for up to 3 more, under a flash flood warning too. BTW I'm now in the Chesapeake area, no longer southern NC.

BTW its stopped now, but it was quite a storm.

Actually I thought it might have been a plume of moisture associated with the remnants of Dennis too. I saw this morning at 6:00 am reporting those storms on TWC. Lots of lightning.

We're here to learn from each other, teach each other, and support each other. There's no reason why HalloweenGale couldn't ask a legitimate question like that. After all, you said yourself, "do a little research." That's what HG was doing by asking us here. :)

They said on local weather this morning that the moisture is associated with the remnants of Dennis - seems he's put a spin over us.

From Weather.com:

"Leftover surface boundaries and small disturbances rotating around the remnants of Dennis will continue to produce showers and thunderstorms across much of the South today. Locally heavy downpours are again possible as the air mass in place remains full of tropical moisture to be wrung out."

There's a 50% chance of scattered showers/t-storms for here in central NC today, too.

The eastern part of Carteret County got a ton of rain this morning, here in Western Carteret County, it just started to rain (with a little thunder in the distance), but looks like a typical summer shower, nothing bad at all.
