Can we say CV season has started?
I mean for all intents and purposes it pretty much has. *sighs* or are there official dates for this? *looks out at the Atlantic and it's classic choo choo train look*

Yes. I very much think it is a safe bet to say that Cape Verde season 2005 has started in the Atlantic Ocean. All this activity in the Atlantic this early in the season is due to incredibly favorable conditions for this time of year in that area. We all pretty much knew that CV season would start in mid-late July due to SSTs being near record levels and an extremely active ITCZ during the month of June. The only hinderance this time of year is the SAL, but as we can see, it hasn't been a MAJOR factor thus far...

Quite right.
Some of us put way too much weight in climatology. If the conditions are right, they are right (climatology or no climatology). If this was January and the conditions were favorable for cyclogenisis, the storms would still form.
Don't get me wrong, climatology has its uses but each season needs to be considered on its own merits.

omy hahahahahahaha..... sorry.... lets all be hokd n foniks ...... please
If it's an obvious spelling mistake that may make the message difficult to understand, I'll fix it. I am too busy raising 3 kids, taking care of my husband and home, and various other projects to care if my grammar and spelling are off in my posts. I just try to shove my love of weather in 3 or 4 minute spurts most times. As long as people can get the general idea of what I am saying or asking, that's all that matters. If the hokd n foniks patrol wants to nit pick my posts they can have fun with the about 1300 posts I've made on this board. Most have mistake. They won't be fixed now or in the future.

You don't want to come up here , granted we don't have much in the way of winters anymore and the summers are getting down right hot , and granted the worst weather we get in south central is thunderstorms (and those only since recent years). You don't want to come up here thow, there is nothing to do unless you are like really into hiking. Once you've seen one mountain range you've seen them all so the majisty will only last about a year for ya. Plus we have lots of wildlife that likes to eat tourists and new arrivals.
Plus alaskas economy is wholy dependent on oil which is running out. So stay in the lower 48 , trust me on this you'd regret comming up here.
