I love doing polls. So, now that it looks like Emily will definitly end up in GOM. Let's see opinions on where she may end up after.

Mexico is what I voted for... maybe a Gilbert type track, then into Mexico, maybe South Texas, but regardless, Yucatan would be affected.

I don't know that I'd consider Brownsville to Galveston "South Texas". Brownsville to Corpus, perhaps. You made at least 90% of the coast "South Texas." Maybe 100 miles to Louisiana in the rest.

I just got off the phone with my girlfriend - she and her 2 kids (ages 9 and 13) are supposed to leave Thursday to go to Cancun for a long weekend, coming back on Monday.

She called Delta and Marriott - but neither are willing to make changes to her reservations at this time since there isn't an official watch or warning in effect...so she's kind of in a danged if you do, danged if you don't situation right now.

At one point, we were going to do this long weekend together - she and her 2 kids, me with my 2 girls - and we were looking at Grand Cayman! (yeah, one of those dashed lines sits smack dab on top of GC).

GO AWAY EMILY

:layout: <---our plans for the weekend - Emily, don't mess with them!

Voted for Central America, though Mexico would be as good a guess as any.

It's surprising how many said Texas. I voted for Mexico; if it survives the Yucatan, which I believe it will pass over.

Mexico (YP) seems a good bet, especially if she doesn't strengthen. Nothing any further north than the lower TX coast.

well, i went southern TX coast because I think we will see her get pushed further north from the ULL...assuming em, dosn't go into SA and the ULL is still there...that ULL dosn't look to be moving very much

Upper TX or SW La.

I don't think the ridge will be strong enough to suppress her that far west or south in the GOM.

That would be one heck of a high to push her to Mexico. IMO . I would have to say a little more north course beginning around Jamaica/Cuba taking her into the Central Louisiana Coast or possibly back to the Lake Charles area.

Houston is inland (NW) from Galveston. With the curvature of the Texas Coast, it would be more logical to include Houston in the Browsnville to Galveston range, rather than "upper Texas." The next segment would be East Texas coast, not north. I agree with Cape Verde, that Brownsville to Galveston covers 90% of our coast, and it's a long coast!:-)

That is a pickle. I know some folks who were stuck in Cancun during and after Gilbert. needless to say it wasn't a pleasant experience for them.

At this point, Mexico, but she will probably crash in to the Yucatan around Cozumel. And may disipate her. But, there is supposed to be a weakness that might drive her north. If that is the case, Texas as best. Don't think it will be strong enough to drive her all the way to the Louisiana coastline.
