What is going on with Emily and TWs

#1 Postby wxwatcher91 » Tue Jul 12, 2005 4:11 pm

Okay, there have been a huge spread of opions, forecasts, and observations. earlier this morning I keep reading here how Emily is weakening and is going to become a TD soon and then I hear by the NHC that it could become a major hurricane. And now a couple more posts have been made about it strengthening... and another few about it weakening. what is going on? anybody with FACTS or GOOD OBSERVATIONS????

and the same thing has been going on with a couple of waves in the Atlantic... none of which have made SSD scaling yet...

information wanted badly please respond if you have anything GOOD!

Wed morning they will have recon to check Emily out. It really looks good from an outflow perspective, we'll see if convection refires tonite. TPC still feels pretty confident it will strenghthen per 5pm discussion. In my opinion, dry air is biggest problem next 48hrs.

I think you need look no farther than the strengthening outflow that has developed to know that we still have an organized area of low pressure here. Also... convection has been firing very quickly around the center. The last visible shots of the day are very impressive IMHO.

Of course, this is not an official account, just my thoughts on the issue... although they are pretty basic and easy to verify.

I think Emily is finally starting to gain latitude....if you look at the IR loop the center looks to be finally heading a little northward...or n of due west...convection is starting to fire...we will see
