Tropical Weather Outlook
Statement as of 11:30 am EDT on July 12, 2005
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico...
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical
Storm Emily...located about 575 miles east-southeast of Barbados.
The tropical wave located about 1000 miles southwest of the CAPE
Verde Islands has become less well defined and further development
is not expected.
An area of low pressure...associated with another tropical wave..is
located about 300 miles west-southwest of the CAPE Verde Islands.
Thunderstorm activity with this system is minimal and little
development is expected over the next day or so.
Elsewhere...tropical storm formation is not expected through
Wednesday.

Kind of selfish and arrogant, you can't wish for others what you don't want for you.
AMEN. The people in Nicaragua are living in extreme poverty, and don't even have 1/20 of the infastructure that we have. They don't get much warning as far as storms go, and even if they did, how many of them have cars so as to evacuate. I certainly don't wish a storm for any part of anyplace, but least of all, one of the poorest countries in the world. It isn't very Christian to forecast disaster upon the less fortunate. At least we have the NHC, and the media to prepare us very capably for catastrophes.
